Why We Run a Red Consistency Check
Red is the most popular wedding color in the world. It's also the hardest to get right on an artificial arch. "Red" means at least ten different reds – cherry red, brick red, burgundy, wine red, scarlet, crimson, oxblood. Mix them on one arch and you get an orange-red rose next to a burgundy hydrangea next to a scarlet filler flower. It looks like a flower shop clearance bin, not a ceremony.
Last December, a rental company in Toronto ordered a set of our red crescent arches for the winter wedding season. They set one up in their showroom and sent us a photo. The deep red roses were fine. But the burgundy hydrangeas they'd been shipped were actually brick red – orange-leaning. And the red filler flowers were scarlet, bright. Three different reds on one arch.
